Young "princess of the violin" Leia Zhu will perform in Novosibirsk


11-year-old violinist Leia Zhu and master of conductor Jean-Claude Casadesus will perform at the Arnold Katz State Concert Hall with the Novosibirsk Academic Symphony Orchestra. The concert will take place within the framework of the Trans-Siberian Art Festival.


Concert Vive la France! will be held as part of the V Trans-Siberian Art Festival. The music of Berlioz, Debussy and Bizet-Waxmann will be performed under the baton of one of the greatest French conductors Jean-Claude Casadesus. During the concert, 11-year-old British violinist Leia Zhu will perform solo.


Critics call the girl a child prodigy and "princess of the violin." The violinist made her debut when she was four years old. She performed in front of an audience of several thousand people in Newcastle City Hall. At the age of six, the girl went on her first tour of Europe, she performed in nine cities with the Los Angeles Classical Concert Orchestra.


Among the numerous awards for violinists are the I prize at the 16th International Television Competition for Young Musicians "The Nutcracker" in Moscow and the Grand Prix at the Competition "Young Virtuosos 2015" in Bulgaria. Her listeners include the Queen of Spain, Princess of Jordan and former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder.


In the Novosibirsk Concert Hall named after Katz Lei Zhu will perform a virtuoso fantasy from the opera "Carmen" by Bizet-Waxmann. The concert will take place on March 21 at 19.00
